From discovery to final film.
The production is being shaped around real lives, meaningful access and enough time to build trust.
July – August 2026: Character discovery
Introductions, research conversations, nominations, contributor discussions, location access and story testing. This phase determines the final group of six and the contrasts that will hold the documentary together.
Late August / early September – November 2026: Principal photography
Observational filming across Sydney, following each principal character through the real environments, relationships and turning points that define their story. Filming concludes before the Christmas period.
December 2026 – January 2027: Post-production
The six narratives are shaped into a single 24-hour arc, followed by picture finishing, colour, sound design, music, captions and final mastering.
Target January 2027: Final delivery
A completed 60-minute documentary, ready for its first audiences and the next stage of its screening, festival, education or distribution pathway.
Production dates may move slightly where a character’s real circumstances require it. The integrity of the story takes priority over forcing life into a rigid schedule.
